Simple 5 Tips on Winter Care for Babies
Cuddle your little one in cozy woolen when the winter winds breeze. The young and soft skin of your baby needs to be protected from the cold winds as baby skin is prone to lose its moisture during winter. Winter care for babies is important to keep the little one happy in the cold season. It gets dried up faster.

Here are a few tips to manage the little one during winter. The winds blow fast and let us doll up our little ones like the Santa who always gets merrier during winter.
1. Layer up: Understand the body temperature of your baby by touching the skin when you layer up. You may choose to wrap your little one in as many layers as he/she feels warm, but beware you don’t overheat your baby inside the wrap. You should also consider covering the stroller when you are taking the little one out in the breeze
2. Moisturize: Apply a moisturizer that can retain the soft skin of your baby and protect it from drying. There are a variety of skin care lotions available in the market. As a parent choose wisely, choose the ones that have fewer chemicals, and are safe for the young skin.
3. Use a Humidifier: Switch off the AC and put on a humidifier when your baby sleeps. This will ensure warmth to the little one and a warm sleep will make him/her less cranky. This will also keep colds and coughs at bay. A short warm bath can also help the baby sleep well.
4. Check for Rashes: It is important to check the infant’s skin for red rashes during the winter. It may be because of too much warmth that is created by clothes or moisturizers. So if you find rashes, reduce the wrap and consult a pediatrician immediately.
5. Chapped Skin: If the skin is already chapped, you may apply an extra layer of that moisturizer and keep your baby covered. This will ensure the chapped skin is treated well and is not prone to the winter winds which can make more damage.
