Oats added gives a healthy twist to this Maddur Vada recipe. Madhur vada is good finger food for your toddlers & kids. Can be enjoyed for morning breakfast, lunch/snack box recipe or have with with your tea time break. Can be given to 8 months + babies (minus the salt).

Ingredients

  1. Oats - 1 cup
  2. Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  3. Samolina/ Sooji (Fine)- 1/2 cup
  4. Onion - 1 finely chopped
  5. Green Chillies - 4
  6. Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  7. Curry Leaves - 10 chopped
  8. Hing - a pinch
  9. Oil (for the dough) - 2 tbsp heated
  10. Peanuts - 4 tbsp crushed
  11. Salt - as needed

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl
  2. Add 2 tbsp of hot oil and knead a soft dough
  3. Rest it for 5 minutes & make small balls of the dough
  4. Press the small balls with your hand  to form a vada shape (Please note do not make the vada too thin as it will become very hard after frying)
  5. Deep fry the vada until golden brown color
  6. Enjoy Maddur vada with green chutney or ketchup or as it is

2. Add 2 tbsp of hot oil and knead a soft dough

3. Rest it for 5 minutes & make small balls of the dough

4. Press the small balls with your hand  to form a vada shape (Please note do not make the vada too thin as it will become very hard after frying)
