What is a Disposable Diaper Made up of?

Any diaper would contain

1. Inner Soft Layer 

2. Absorbent Core

3. Outer Waterproof Layer 

The absorbent core is mostly made up of gel crystals which absorb the pee very quickly and keep the baby dry.

Tips to safely use Disposable Diapers

1. Limit the Usage – Make limited use of disposable diapers as they are not environment-friendly. They are not skin-friendly too when used inefficiently.

2. Do not put it on the baby immediately after a bath or wiping. Allow the skin to air dry or wipe in a dry cloth and then put it on.

3. Avoid using wet tissues as they are the main culprit for skin rashes in babies.

4. Change diapers every 2-3 hours depending on how much your baby pees.

5. Apply diaper rash cream or a thin layer of coconut oil regularly for a baby who is prone to rashes before putting the diaper.

6. Give enough diaper-free time for the baby’s skin to breathe

7. Invest in good-quality diapers. 

8. Switch to cloth diapers as soon as possible. There are many such brands which can be used overnight and during travel too.

9. Leaving the baby’s poop for a long time can be too dangerous. Hence please keep checking the diaper every now and then.

10. Disposing of diapers is another major hygiene concern inside the home or outside, one needs to take utmost care while doing this. Wrap it in paper and do not mix it with other kitchen waste.
