1. Increases immunity
When a mother kisses her baby she will consume all the pathogens on the baby’s skin which are about to make their way inside the baby’s body by the way of his or her mouth. Mother not only takes them in and safeguards the child in this way but this also impacts in mother producing required antibodies and passing it through breastmilk to make the baby stronger to fight those bacterias internally and stay immune to infections.
2. Increases breastmilk supply

The hormones released in the brain by kissing and cuddling her baby decrease stress in a mother, help her relax, hereby supporting lactation and increased breastmilk supply. This also helps her combat postpartum depression to the greatest extent.
3. Reduces anxiety
Skin to skin, kiss, and hugs comforts the baby by stabilizing heart rate and blood glucose levels. Babies are no more scared of the world, they feel safe and protected which helps in their optimal growth. The cry it out method is dangerous and crying babies will never be happy and happiness is good for both physical and mental health. Affection is never harmful, let’s not be surrounded by the myth that hugging, touching, and even being with babies for a long time can be harmful and make them dependent. It is in fact much needed.
4. Makes your baby smarter
These small love gestures make your baby feel secure, loved, and improve his intelligence too. A young developing brain learns to make sense of your reactions to his actions and tries to acts the same way. This is why you can see babies love to be kissed and cuddled and respond to you with happier reactions of beating their legs, hands, or wanting to be picked and held closer to a parent or guardian. This is the reason why we recommend co-sleeping and interacting with babies a lot.
5. Helps overcome pains
The baby’s growing nerves are not capable of bearing any sort of pain yet. Be it sore muscles from being in bed for a long time, the achy feeling caused by infection, gas trouble or digestive issues, procedures of drawing blood or injecting vaccinations. Kissing, hugging, rocking them, or even talking to them in a sweet voice helps them cope up with pain up to a large extent.
So next time you kiss, cuddle or hug your baby you are aware of the benefits and I’m sure you will continue to do it longer and forever. Even grown-up kids, you and I always have an urge to be kissed and loved. Age is not a matter anyway.
