Mistakes Parents do that can be killing Children’s Immunity? : We parents are doing plenty of things right, and parenting in this era isn’t an easy task for which every New Generation Parent is commendable. In this article I’m sharing common mistakes most parents make that can be killing the child’s immunity.

Over Protective :-

One simple example is not allowing them outdoor with the fear of them falling or getting hurt tops the list. Hope you’ve heard of head gear and knee protectors, used inside the house. Overprotective parents seek to shelter their kids from any physical, emotional or mental pain. If we do not expose them to small troubles today they won’t be able to handle any concern themselves in future. This weakens them both physically and mentally and result shows that such kids may develop risk aversion, dependency on parents, chronic anxiety and psychological disorders.
Over Hygienic :-

Most of us believe that mud is dirty and is unhygienic where as mud is a natural sensory play. The play area is not the mud but the vast fields on the outskirts. So take them out once in a while to countryside and allow them to play, get dirty, explore the nature, play in water bodies not just pools. Few of us do not allow our children with friends or relatives who are infected with common illnesses like fever, cough or cold. If we do not allow our soldiers to practice a simple fight, can we allow them to fight a war in future?
Instant Over the Top Medication :-

We cannot see our children ill. Yes they suffer, we have to go back to work, who will take care of them becomes a worry, we fear if it will worsen and other complications it may turn into. Quick medication for common illnesses is never needed, Cough, cold, fever are thus called common illnesses. As said earlier allow your child to fight a war, he will tell you when he needs help. Please do not addict them to counter top medication. Observe, monitor and definitely take them to doctor when it prolongs.
Self Prescribed Supplements :-

Another practice, sometimes fashionable is to offer supplements. Food is the medicine and all natural ingredients have something to offer. Balance diet, hydration, inclusion of superfoods, adding variety in their daily meals, helping them eat local, seasonal and fresh is the need of the hour, not supplements. Supplements have to be suggested by doctors only, and that too post testing them for any deficiencies formally.
Unwanted Focus on Weight :-

Let him eat something. This is one of the dangerous phrase I hear from parents and this is mostly because their uncle, friend or housekeep said that their child is lean. Doctors are right, they will never ask you to increase his weight as long as the child is healthy, active and reaching all milestones as per his age. Lets focus on wellness and happiness alongside offering them good nutrition, healthy environment and peaceful home.
Easy Access to Instant Foods :-

We are busy parents ourselves and we find it very difficult to multitask. Thanks to staying away from parents for the sake of job, or being in a nuclear family for the sake of comfort. We husband and wife will have to mostly share the burden and hence go for easy picks most times. With a little planning not just your child but you can also eat healthy. There are so many online stores these days which can help us cook healthy using healthy ingredients and also google is filled with quick healthy food recipes under 10 minutes. All instant food mixes, even the spice powders come with preservatives and hence avoid using simple junks like ketchup, pickle, jams etc.
Considering Junk as Fashionable :-

And Look down upon Traditional Foods. Yes, because you promised your child to treat him with Mc Donald’s french-fries if he completes his homework, he considers it to be a Super Food. He finds it nicer to boast about having food at some of the prominent Brands offering junk foods like fried chicken, burger, etc. than sharing with his friends how good his mom makes Rasam, or dad cooks his favorite omelets.
No Access to Sun :-

Even when we go on a holiday to beach or in nature we carry SPF creams and tell them sun is bad. Tan is good and sun exposure is good too. Every human being needs his daily dose of Vitamin D without which his digestive system wont work well, its needed to improve ones skin, brain and altogether physical health.
Mistakes Parents do that can be killing Children’s Immunity? : By avoiding these common mistakes, parents can help ensure that their child’s immunity is strong and that they stay healthy. Most of the parents are doing plenty of things right, and parenting in this era isn’t an easy task for which every New Generation Parent is commendable. If at all we are doing anything out of the list, lets treat this as a wake up call.
