Granola Bars | No Bake Protein Rich Bar for Kids | Lactation Friendly Bars

Granola Bars are easy and healthy snack options for people on the go. It makes a great kids snack, travel snack, and morning breakfast option too. I’ve added choco-chips here to make it more calling for a kid. The best part of making these Granola Bars at home is you can customize it as per your or your kids liking but adding their favorite nuts, dry fruits, etc.

In this recipe, I’ve used oats, dry fruits, and nuts which are lactation friendly too, and hence it’s good for a new mother as well. Oats, dry fruits, and nuts help increase breast milk production naturally. You can add pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds to make it more lactation friendly if you are making it for a new mother.

Granola Bars | No-Bake Protein-Rich Bar for Kids | Lactation Friendly Bars
Granola Bars

Ingredients
- Quick cooking Oats - 2 cups
- Almonds - 1/4 cup
- Cashew - 1/4 cup
- Dates - 1/2 cup chopped
- Raisins - 1/4 cup
- Poppy Seeds - 2 tsp(optional)
- Honey/Jaggery Syrup - 1/4 cup
- Choco-chips - 1/4 cup
- Butter - 100 gm
Method
1. Take a thick bottom pan and add almonds. Dry roast and keep aside. Repeat the same with cashewnuts.
2. Once cooled you can add almond and cashew to a blender jar and make a coarse powder or just pound it roughly to give your Granola Bar a crunchy texture. In the same pan add Oats
3. Add butter and start roasting oats till it smells good or turns light brown.
4. Add poppy seeds just before taking oats from flame and roast for 2 minutes at the end. Take all of it in a plate and allow to cool down. Add chopped dates and raisins to the same pan and roast it for about 2 minutes and cool these too.
5. Take oats mixture, dates and raisins, nuts powder in a bowl. Add honey or jaggery syrup.
6. As kids love chocolate I'm adding choco-chips which is optional. Give the whole mixture a quick stir. Take any tray and grease it with a little ghee or butter.
7. Set the mixture flat on a plate using any weight. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours and then cut it in desired shapes.

Method of making Granola Bars

Note :
1. It’s optional but great if you can bake the same as it gives a better crunchy texture. Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.
2. These can be refrigerated and used for more than 15 days.
3. Feel free to add or subtract any ingredient.
