A healthy dessert to replace that store brought sweet is our recipe for today. Makhana Seviyaan Kheer. This is a delicacy made out of Makhana or fox nuts which are made by popping the seeds of lotus and along with this Seviyaan is the main ingredient.

Makhana Seviyaan Kheer for Babies and Kids

Ingredients
- Makhana - 40 nos.
- Seviyaan - 50 gm
- Milk - 2 cups
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
- Kesar Badam Powder - 2 tsp (optional)
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Cashew - 5 chopped
- Almonds - 5 chopped
Method
- In a pan add makhana or foxnuts and ghee. Fry for 3 - 5 minutes and keep it aside to cool down
- In the same pan, add ghee, chopped almonds, chopped cashew nuts and roast it well
- Now take half of the cooled Makhana and blend it to a fine powder using the Wonderchef blender.
- In the pan add milk, sugar and bring to a boil.
- Add cardamom powder, kesar badam powder, Makhana powder and mix well.
- After it boils add the roasted seviyaan, fried nuts and fried Makhana
- Mix well and simmer for 7 minutes so that the makhana gets cooked well
- It is now ready to serve hot or can be chilled and served

Method:
1. In a pan add fox nuts and ghee. Fry for 3 – 5 minutes and keep it aside to cool down


2. In the same pan, add ghee, Chopped almonds, chopped cashew nuts and roast it well


3. Now take half of the cooled Makhana and blend it to a fine powder using the Wonderchef blender.

4. In the pan add milk, sugar and bring to a boil.

5. Add cardamom powder, kesar badam powder, Makhana powder and mix well.


6. After it boils add the roasted seviyaan, fried nuts and fried Makhana


7. Mix well and simmer for 7 minutes so that the makhana gets cooked well
8. It is now ready to serve hot or can be chilled and served
