Happy New Year 2017 to all my viewers I’ve not made any resolution as such but looking at the support I’ve been showered by you all I want to commit to being more supportive to all of you who are taking a step ahead for that HEALTHY PATH this year. And to celebrate it we are bringing you the Healthy version of a sponge cake, Whole Wheat Chocolate Sponge Cake which is Eggless, Vegan, and Maida-free. You can just get guilt-free and indulge in this healthy bake with your family.

One of my sweet friends Rajeswari Annamalai who’s been trying many new variations to bake healthy at home shared this recipe in a group. I’m so happy that she happily agreed to post this in TOTS AND MOMS. And why not, we all want to share Joy of Baking Healthy at home. This recipe calls for very simple ingredients, which are available at home. We shall soon post on how to decorate a cake in our coming posts. Keep a watch. Ingredients
- Whole Wheat Flour - 1 1/8 cup
- Cocoa Powder - 3 tbsp
- Salt - Pinch
- Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
- Sugar Powder - 3/4
- Water - 1 cup
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
- Vanilla - 1/2 tsp
Method
- Take a bowl and sift Whole Wheat Flour, Cocoa Powder, Salt, Baking Soda together three times. This helps to get a spongy cake even while using Whole Wheat instead of Maida.
- Now prepare the wet mixture. Take a bowl add water and powdered sugar, mix till the sugar is well dissolved. Add oil, lemon juice, and vanilla and mix again.
- Slowly add the sifted dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix it with the help of a wired whisk ensuring no lumps formed.
- Grease a baking tray and pour the Cake Batter
- Pat it well and Bake for 40-45 mins at 180 degree C in a pre-heated oven.
- Take a toothpick test. If the toothpick comes out clean your Cake is well baked, if not bake it few more minutes and repeat the test. You can see that our cake has passed through the tooth pick test and here comes out a Healthy, Spongy Cake - our Whole Wheat Choco Sponge Cake for your celebration time. Yipeee...

Method
