Butter Peas Puree for Babies and Toddlers

Butter Peas Puree is a great recipe for babies who are starting solids to introduce them to a variety of tastes and textures. This puree we have shown here in a blended format can also be mashed and can be given for babies above 6 months once you introduce the vegetables.
Peas are generally super nutritious and are rich in calcium and essential minerals as well. Many of them avoid this great vegetable assuming this is gassy for babies. Any food if given more will have its side effects on babies, the same with peas too. Peas puree is one of the best weight-gaining food for babies. To overcome the gassy nature of peas we are adding cumin powder here so that it will not cause any health issues to babies. Given the benefit of peas, we are adding on good fat content in the form of butter which is again a healthy requirement of a growing child. When it comes to taste it’s just delicious. Butter Peas Puree can be given to babies above 6 months of age.

Butter Peas Puree for Babies and Toddlers - Weight Gaining Recipe

Ingredients
- Green Peas - 100gm
- Butter - 10gm
- Cumin Powder - A pinch
- Water - As required
Method
- Take fresh green peas in the mentioned quantities and put it in a wide pan, add water to it.
- Cover and cook in medium flame it for about 15 minutes until it's soft. It would look something like this. You can check by pressing peas with your fingers, if it gets smashed then it's cooked well.
- Now take this cooled cooked peas in a blender jar, take 2 more spoons of water if required, make it a fine puree. For older kids, you can just mash it using a spoon.
- Now transfer this to a pan before switching on flame, add unsalted butter to this puree, and just saute it for 1-2 mins do not overcook it since the peas are already well cooked.
- To this add a pinch of cumin powder and mix all the ingredients well.
- Tasty and Healthy Butter Peas Puree is ready to be served.

Method of making Butter Peas Puree
1. Take fresh green peas in the mentioned quantities and put it in a wide pan. Add a sufficient amount of water to boil it.

2. Cover and cook in medium flame it for about 15 minutes until it’s soft. It would look something like this. You can check by pressing peas with your fingers, if it gets mashed then it’s well cooked.

3. Now take these cooled cooked peas in a blender jar, take 2 more spoons of water if required and make a fine puree. For older kids, you can just mash it using a spoon.

4. Now transfer this to a pan and add unsalted butter or ghee as needed.

5. To this add a pinch of cumin powder and mix all the ingredients well. Saute for about 2 minutes on low flame.

6. Tasty and Healthy Butter Peas Puree is ready to be served.
