Peanuts or Groundnuts are a wonderful source of protein also called Peanut Protein. I remember the days when boiled groundnuts or roasted groundnuts used to be our regular snack option at home. It’s now become a very rare affair and this recipe makes it simple and rejoicing for kids and us too, to begin the lost tradition. In the era of pani puri and chat, I believe this is an ideal way to lure one’s tongue in a healthy way.

Peanut Chat for Toddlers & Kids | Protein-rich Heart Healthy Snack

Ingredients
- Peanuts - 2 cups
- Onion - 1 chopped
- Tomato - 1 chopped
- Coriander Leaves - little
- Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chat Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Lemon Juice - 3 tsp
- Salt - as needed
Method
- Soak 2 cups of Peanut for about 2 hours. Drain and add peanuts to a pressure cooker with salt and sufficient water to cook. Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Once the peanuts are cooked drain and add the cooked peanuts to a bowl. Add chopped onion, tomato and coriander.
- Add all the spices, salt, lemon and chopped coriander leaves. Give it a quick stir and its ready to be served.
- Peanut Chat is ready to be served.

Instructions to make Peanut Chat
1. Soak 2 cups of Peanut for about 2 hours. Drain and add peanuts to a pressure cooker with salt and sufficient water to cook. Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
2. Once the peanuts are cooked drain and add the cooked peanuts to a bowl. Add chopped onion, tomato and coriander.
3. Add all the spices, salt, lemon and chopped coriander leaves. Give it a quick stir and its ready to be served.
4. Peanut Chat is ready to be served.

Note :
1. This can be given to 10 months above babies who have learned self-eating. Your monitoring and no salt is a must.
2. You can use fresh groundnuts just de-seeded from the shell too.
3. Spices can be adjusted as required. You can add amchur powder or garam masala too.
