As it is a sugarless recipe and naturally sweetened by Dry Dates Powder and Nuts Powder, it’s a baby-friendly dessert and also diabetic-friendly dessert on all festival occasions in the family.

Sabudana is also called Sabakki in Kannada, Sabudana in Hindi, Pearl Tapioca in English, and sabudana usual in certain parts of India a well. It’s a perfect dessert during fasting time like shivarathri, navarathri, other Hindu festivals, and Ekadashi as well. The ingredients used in the kheer are very minimal and nutritious and also can be replaced with a few other ingredients with respect to dates, we can use Homemade Dates syrup or buy it Organic Dates Syrup online in case you don’t have Dates powder when preparing this recipe.  Can be given to 8 months +.

Sugarless and Baby friendly recipes for festive season to come and a perfectly nutritious dessert for the family right from 8 months + babies.

Ingredients

  1. Ghee/ Butter - 1 tsp
  2. Sabudana - 1/4 cup soaked
  3. Nuts Powder - 1 tsp
  4. Dates Syrup/ Dates Powder - 1 tsp
  5. Fried Nuts - Optional

Method

  1. Add Ghee/ Butter - 1 tsp, and once it melts add soaked Sabudana - 1/4 cup for 4-5 hours and strain it, add Nuts powder to it.
  2. Now add Dry Dates Powder and 1 cup Water and mix well.
  3. Allow the ingredients to cook well and once its all blended well, and thickens a little it's ready to serve. Garnish it with Fried nuts for enhancing the nutty texture.
  4. Sugarless Sabudane Kheer is ready to serve.

Note

  • Dates powder and nuts powder are optional can be skipped and replaced with jaggery or sugar if needed age-accordingly.
  • Spices like Keasr, cardamom and cinnamon can be added as well.

Method of Preparation
