Sago Urad Dal Cereal Porridge Mix for Babies and Toddlers

Ingredients
For Porridge/Cereal Mix:
- Sago/ Sabudana/ Pearl Tapioca – ½ cup
- Urad Dal – ½ cup
- Cardamom – 1
For Porridge/Cereal:
- Sago Urad Dal Cereal – 2 tbsp
- Water / Milk – as needed
- Palm Sugar/ Dates Powder/ Jaggery Powder – 1 tsp
- Ghee – ½ tsp
Method
Method of making Sago Urad Dal Cereal Porridge Mix:
- Take a wide pan, add sabudana/ Tapioca pearls, and dry roast it for about 5 to 8 minutes. Once roasted transfer to a plate and keep aside.
- To the same pan, add urad dal or black lentil and dry roast it until it changes its color to a golden brown. Once it is well-roasted transfer it to a plate to cool. Add cardamom/elachi, roast for a few seconds, and add to the roasted mixture. It enhances the taste and eases digestion.
- Later take these roasted ingredients in a blender jar and make a coarse powder.
- Transfer to an airtight container and can be stored for a few days.
For making Porridge:
- To a thick bottom pan, add the required amount of powder along with ghee followed by palm sugar.
- Mix all the ingredients with the required amount of water, so that no lumps are found.
- On a low flame, cook the porridge by continuously stirring until the mixture gets the desired consistency.
- Sago Urad Dal Cereal porridge is ready to be served.
