Ingredients
- 2 cup Foxtail Millet/little /Barnyard
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp Mustard / rai
- Few Curry Leaves
- 4 Green Chilies
- 1 Onion
- Vegetables of your choice
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt as per your taste
- 1 tbsp Grated Coconut
- ½ tbsp Coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 5 cup Water
Method
- To begin with, wash the foxtail millet and soak it for 30 mins.
- In a kadai 3 tbsp oil and splutter 1 tsp mustard seeds, few curry leaves and 4 green chillies.
- Add 1 onion and vegetables of your choice according to the season and saute well till vegetables are cooked well.
- To this add in ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 5 cup hot water and salt
- Now add 1 tbsp grated coconut this is optional and 2 cup foxtail millet
- Get to boil, cover and simmer on low flame for 20 mins or pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistle
- Garnish with ½ tbsp coriander leaves and 1 tbsp ghee
- Finally Foxtail Millet is ready to serve
