Almond & Dates Drink – Vegan Health Drink for Lactose Intolerant Kids

Eating soaked almonds in the morning is been such a great health routine in so many houses. Almonds are great for immunity, boost brain development, and are good for skin too. Dates on the other hand are a great sugar alternative, being a natural sweetener that is and it is a good energy booster much required for growing babies.
Today’s recipe is a culmination of superfoods I would say and is the tastiest. This can be ideally given to babies post a year. Here I’ve not filtered the mixture with a muslin cloth as I feel the fiber is equally essential. But it is totally ok to filter using a nut milk bag as it enhances the taste a bit and kids may like it more. This milk is ideal for kids who are lactose intolerant.

Almond & Dates Drink – Vegan Health Drink for Lactose Intolerant Kids

Ingredients
- Almonds – 20
- Dates – 5 soft
- Water – as needed
- Cinnamon powder – a pinch
Method
- Take Almonds & Dates in 2 separate bowls. Deseed dates without fail. Add hot water and soak both for 30 minutes or soaking in normal water overnight is best.
- After soaking, deskin almonds and add it to the Wonderchef Blender Jar without adding its water. Add soaked dates with some water. Blend to a fine puree.
- Make a soft paste and then add more water as required. At this step, you can consider adding cinnamon powder to enhance the taste. Blend it well.
- The mix can be of this consistency, adding more water will make it tasteless. This is a grainy texture and with almond fiber and I would like to drink it this way ideally but for kids, if required you can use Urban Platter’s Nut Milk bag to sieve and get fine milk. Pour it in a glass and serve immediately and garnish with nuts if necessary. You can refrigerate it for further use.

Method of making Almond & Dates Drink
