RAGI KHEER Recipe for Babies & Kids

Ragi is great during summer for all, especially babies and kids, as it helps keep their body cool. Many parents are a great fan of Ragi already knowing its health benefits. I’ve used ragi or finger millet this time to make this Ragi Kheer / Payasam – Nachni Kheer or Finger Millet Pudding, a dessert which surely will be loved by all – kids too. I’ve included ground dry fruits which act as natural sweeteners and babies below a year can relish this too, just ensure you don’t add jaggery powder for them.

I’ve tried this recipe many times at home and we loved it especially when served chilled and with lots of chopped dry nuts’ topping. You can use any dry fruits like pistachio, almonds, figs, prunes and customize the recipe as per your liking. I’ve used a combination of milk and water to cook this pudding you can use only water if your child is lactose intolerant. You can even cook this with almond milk, cashew milk, or coconut milk for better taste and nutrition.
Ragi is great for babies and kids as it’s rich in Calcium and keeps away anemia. It helps in Healthy Weight Gain in babies and increases their immunity. Before proceeding with this recipe I would like to request you to have a look at lots of Ragi Recipes on our blog with video as mentioned below.
